Corrections Policy

Last updated: 29 May 2026

Accuracy is the foundation of trustworthy journalism. JoeyMoney.com is committed to correcting factual errors quickly, transparently, and visibly. This policy explains how we handle corrections, clarifications, updates, and retractions.

1. What We Consider an Error

  • Factual errors — incorrect names, dates, numbers, prices, percentages, financial figures, quotations, or attributions.
  • Misleading framing — headlines or summaries that materially misrepresent the underlying story.
  • Missing material context — omission of facts that significantly change a reader’s understanding.
  • Outdated information — where developments after publication materially alter the story.

2. How to Flag an Error

If you spot an error, please email pitamghosh1998@gmail.com with:

  • The article URL or headline
  • The specific text or claim you believe is incorrect
  • The correct information, with a source link if possible
  • Your name and contact (optional, but appreciated for follow-up)

Please put “Correction Request” in the subject line.

3. Our Response Timeline

StepTimeline
Acknowledgement of your requestWithin 24 hours
Internal verificationWithin 72 hours
Correction published (if confirmed)Within 5 working days

4. How Corrections Appear

We do not silently edit published articles. When a correction is made:

  • The corrected article displays an “Updated” timestamp at the top.
  • A clearly labelled “Correction:” or “Update:” note is appended at the end of the article explaining what was changed and why.
  • For significant errors, the original incorrect text is preserved (struck through) so readers can see what was changed.

5. Types of Editorial Notes

  • Correction — a factual error has been fixed.
  • Clarification — the original was not wrong but could be misread; we have made it clearer.
  • Update — new information has emerged since publication; we have added it.
  • Retraction — the entire article is found to be substantially unreliable and is taken down. A retraction notice replaces the original URL explaining what happened and why.

6. Removal Requests

We generally do not delete published articles, as doing so undermines public trust in the historical record. However, we will consider takedown requests on a case-by-case basis where there is a compelling legal, privacy, or safety reason.

7. Comments and Reader Submissions

If you posted a comment that contains an error and want it corrected or removed, email us with the URL and the comment text.

8. Accountability

All correction decisions are made by the editor, Pitam Ghosh. Persistent or serious errors will be reviewed publicly, and structural changes to our editorial workflow will be considered to prevent recurrence.
